Courtney Decoteau "I hired a doula because this was my first baby and I felt I need some extra support during labor since I was doing it naturally. All of the information Miranda gave me was so helpful prenatally. During my birth she used massaging techniques, counter pressure, hip squeezes, and was just a positive voice in my ear. She let me know I can do this! My birth cheerleader! I felt 100 percent respected during my birth. Miranda's overall genuine care and compassion was very helpful and kind. The most beneficial part of having a doula was the physical and emotional support. I think all pregnant women could benefit from a doula because in that moment of birthing, family or no family, it's just very comforting to have someone who focuses on helping you and only you." Kara Jordan "I hired a doula because I really wanted extra support during labor. I also hoped to avoid the use of medications in labor. I was so blessed by all the time Miranda spent with me talking and helping me sort through my fears, options, past experiences and expectations for this birth. After the birth, Miranda listened to me sort through my birth experience and let me talk through my feelings. Birth is such an emotional rollercoaster, it was a great relief to have someone ready and willing to listen. She also came to my home twice after the birth to check on the baby and I. She watched my older children, allowing me some much needed rest. I think every woman should have a cheerful, helpful, informed and dedicated support person. Birth is a momentous event for the mother and her family. Miranda obviously loves what she does. She is kind, sincere and very generous with her time and attention. I hope to use her again for my next birth." Jessica Eschbach "As a first-time mother and a person who has had almost no experience with babies, having someone available to answer questions and act as a supporter was very important to me. I knew a doula would be a great option for me. Miranda was able to answer many of my questions, no matter how big or small, and was also able to present me with many birthing options that helped me really determine what I wanted as far as my birth experience. I didn't know about all of the options that were available to me. The education Miranda provided was invaluable. I felt like she was extremely helpful, even with the less common questions and interests I had (for example, cloth diapering). Despite the fact that my birth was totally not what I was planning or hoping for, she were still so helpful! Miranda talked me through options for coping with my pain when I wasn't able to think about them on my own. She helped me go unmedicated longer than I ever expected. I appreciated her being willing to offer suggestions and assist the nurses to make sure that my wishes were being respected. Despite my total inability to communicate after birth, she were once again extremely helpful. I think the best thing that she did was just contacting afterwards just to find out how I was doing. It was nice to feel important and recognized during that time since so much attention was on the baby. The most beneficial part of having a doula was the extra support and knowledge that was given to me. While my husband is great, I think he was also overwhelmed with the whole idea of us having a baby and to have someone else there who can communicate with everyone and offer suggestions that align with our plan is amazing. I think a doula is a great idea for any woman, regardless of what kind of birth they will have."
Courtney Stewart "I hired a doula because it was my first pregnancy and I needed someone who knew what to expect and help keep me calm. Before the birth Miranda checked in on me frequently and asked how I was doing. During our prenatal appointments, she helped me understand what is normal during labor and what isn't. She helped me to develop my birth plan and held my wishes to a high standard.Miranda was so amazing during my birth. I ended up having to have a cesarean with my child, and she kept me very calm during the whole labor. She asked how I felt, what my pain rate was, and if I needed anything. She was very in tune and knowledgeable about what was going on. She was a big part of my delivery and I would recommend her to anyone hands down."
Becky Loney "Miranda was my doula for my 5th baby, and second homebirth. I had not originally planned to have a doula but decided to accept her offer while in labor, so this sweet soul put her own life on hold and drove over an hour to support me. She was a constant encouragement and provided the perfect comfort measures to make my labor more than tolerable. She will do everything she possibly can to help her clients achieve the birth they desire. Its hard to find a doula with the dedication and a true servants heart. I found that in Miranda and I recommend her 1000%! So if you're looking for the perfect addition to complete your birth team, give her a call."
Gwendolyn Posey- Midwife "Miranda is a STATE treasure. She on the front lines in parental rights as well as an extremely dedicated doula. She is there when needed and never abandons a mother. With Miranda, YOU come FIRST! No agenda, no pressure, just you and your choices, FIRST!"
Samantha Mehaffey In previous births I had not hired a doula but wanted to since I know the benefits (being that I am one myself). I had the money to do so this time and wished to guarantee myself to have a knowledgeable support person with me in the case that I labored quickly like I had with my last baby. Prenatally Miranda went above and beyond by chatting via text when I was frustrated, and visiting unexpectedly to cheer me up. During labor she rubbed my back and was so attentive to my requests. She did fabulous, I wouldn't change a thing! Having someone who was there for the singular purpose of caring for me was amazing. I felt pampered while in labor, more pampered than I ever have in my life, being pampered in the heat of labor made me feel special and helped me relax.
Hannah Jaurez Miranda was my doula for my very first baby who came in July! I went to her breastfeeding class and loved it but I didn't know much about doulas and thought they were out of my price range to have one but she explained what she does and decided I should have one since i'm a more "crunchy" mom who was having my baby at a hospital and wanted someone there to help me through it and keep my wishes in mind and support me. She is very affordable (but is worth way more than she charges because she is so awesome!) and she has gone above and beyond for me and my sweet little baby! Without her, I would've never been able to make it through my pain med free birth as composed as I was. When I wanted to just totally freak out from pain she kept me focused and is the reason I had such a beautiful natural birth! Any questions I've had she would research and find info for me, along with tons of encouragement and always reassured my choices and gave me tons of confidence! She is not just my doula, but an amazing, compassionate friend who was there for one of the biggest moments of my life! I will recommend her to anyone I know having a baby because they will be in the best hands! If I am blessed with any more children she will be one of the first people I call! <3 If you have a chance, go to one of her classes if you're on the fence about a doula and I promise you won't be disappointed!
Minde Lynn I hired a doula mainly for emotional support. During my pregnancy Miranda took time to discuss all of my options with me, which was so helpful. During labor, I had a very rough epidural experience but Miranda was with me through the entire ordeal. Miranda was perfect. I like that she gave me my space when I needed it but was there during the moments I needed her. We also hired her for postpartum support. She helped with my older children and kept up with my laundry, that relieved a lot of stress for me. The most beneficial part of having a doula was the support and just having someone to talk to that understands the whole process.

Rose Pyles "Miranda came to my home on two occasions and was a huge help. I am recovering from a c-section and need to stay in bed as much as I can. Miranda made that possible by taking care of my other children (aside from the baby, who was happy to stay with me) and even helping with school work. The kids had fun and I was able to relax. It was a huge stress relief. She also made sure I was hydrated by helping me keep water nearby and helped the kids handle their chores (such as laundry, etc). Miranda is a professional, a great listener, responded to the needs of myself and our children, anticipated our needs, was able to answer my questions, knowledgeable about newborn care, provided valuable resources, and was respectful to our family. She was a blessing."

Prenatal Education Testimonials
Alex Igo "I haven't had Miranda as a doula, but I can see why you would want her to be! I took her class, Navigating Natural Labor. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I left feeling so empowered and like I had all the tools to power through my birth. Just as it should be. She was so kinda and patient, and answered every one of my questions!
My husband went with me, and he was just as happy as I was. We did lots of hands on partner things and breathing exercises. They showed us how to communicate with each other and the doctors, and nurses. Showed us labor positions so my husband can help me with labor pains, and showed him places to massage to release tension. They showed us various tools to get through birth, many that I didn't know about; squatting bar, peanut ball, and the rebozo. They also talked about positions to give birth in, I had no idea honestly I was allowed to give birth in other ways then my back, especially in a hospital. She gave us exercises to tone the lower body and prepare for birth. They really reassured me! Hoping for a natural vaginal birth, and I feel now that I am 100% prepared. I am so happy I went. I will recommend to my friends, and will refer them to her if they need a doula. So very happy with this experience, I can't say enough good things!"
