Postpartum Doula
As a postpartum doula my job is to nurture the entire family as they transition into life with a new baby. This would include doing things to help mom and dad feel more confident in their roles, sharing education on family adjustment, and tending to the unique needs of a new mother. I strongly feel that my role as a postpartum doula is to work myself out of a job. My goal is to ensure that parents are confident in their skills and abilities by the time I end care with them.
I have specialized training in the postpartum period including training in lactation, newborn care, care for multiples, newborn sleep, functional nutrition, and maternal mental health.
Some of the duties that I may perform include:
Breastfeeding or bottle feeding support and instruction
Day and overnight care
Baby soothing skills
Newborn care
Meal preparation and light housekeeping
Sibling care
Running errands
Referrals to local resources
Help with the emotional and physical recovery after birth

Witching Hour Package
The "Witching Hour" is a time where babies are often fussy for no discernable reason. It usually occurs in the evening hours when parents are beginning to get tired and are wanting to do anything except hold a crying baby. Some of the favorite ways that families like to utilize doula care for this package include:
Learning tips and strategies for a colicky baby
Assistance with cooking, cleaning, or prepping for dinner
Doula can provide light cleaning and 'reset' the house before bed
Become an expert on how to put your baby to sleep AND keep them asleep!
Parents can take time to unwind and relax while their doula cares for the baby
This package can be utilized between the hours of 5 PM - 10 PM only.

Because no two families’ postpartum needs are exactly alike, hours can vary greatly from client to client. Ultimately it is the needs of the family that will determine what type of postpartum care is needed and for how long, and I will adapt both the type and amount of services I provide to meet your unique postpartum needs.
