Postpartum Doula
As a postpartum doula my job is to nurture the entire family as they transition into life with a new baby. This would include doing things to help mom and dad feel more confident in their roles, sharing education on family adjustment, and tending to the unique needs of a new mother. Postpartum services are especially popular after a traumatic birth, the birth of multiples, or for large families.
Some of the duties that I may perform include:
Breastfeeding support and instruction
Day and overnight care
Baby soothing skills
Newborn care
Meal preparation and light housekeeping
Sibling care
Running errands
Referrals to local resources
Help with the emotional and physical recovery after birth

Because no two families’ postpartum needs are exactly alike, hours can vary greatly from client to client. Ultimately it is the needs of the family that will determine what type of postpartum care is needed and for how long, and I will adapt both the type and amount of services I provide to meet your unique postpartum needs.
